Your M&A Advisory Team

Experienced Advisors. Always in Your Corner.

We are a team of former owners and operators who have been in your shoes. We are boutique by design. Deliberately small, selecting every team member for their competence, confidence and expertise in a specific area of M&A.

That experience shapes how we listen, how we fight for you and how we earn your trust during the most important transaction of your life.

Why Trust Your Business to TREP

We Put Owners First, Not Transactions

We do more than help you sell your business. We help you meet your goals. A transaction is not the goal; the impact on your life is the real measure.

Before we talk about buyers or valuation or timing, we want to listen to you. You’ll talk to a senior advisor, the same advisor who will work by your side the entire time. So that deep understanding of what you want to achieve stays with us from beginning to end.

We learn what success looks like for you, and what you’re not willing to compromise. We learn what motivated you to build your business, and what’s driving you toward your next chapter.

This understanding is the foundation of everything we do, and it’s what sets us apart from traditional investment bankers or M&A advisors.

How We Think About Your Business

Your Business Is More Than a Number.

Our experience has shown that the owners most satisfied with long-term outcome are the ones whose transaction was built around more than price alone.

We use the Four Pillars of Entrepreneurial Freedom as a lens for every engagement. These guide our process to understand what you want from a sale and how we can find a buyer who will deliver it.

T

Time

You started your business for freedom, but somewhere along the way, the business started owning you. This is your chance to get that time back to focus on yourself and your passions.

R

Relationships

Your family, your friends and your team have always shown up for you. Now you can spend time with them and show your appreciation. The right exit makes it possible.

E

Economics

You’ve spent years building real value. It’s time to make sure that value works for you, on your terms, for the rest of your life.

P

Purpose

Why did you start your company? Whatever drives you, legacy, a new chapter, or something you haven’t fully imagined yet, that purpose belongs at the center of this decision.

Common Questions

Questions owners ask us before the first call.

Things owners ask us before the first call.

Most businesses we work with need some preparation before going to market. The earlier you start that conversation with us, the more options you have. Some owners are ready to move in months. Others need a year or two to get in position. Both are fine starting points. Our readiness quiz is a good place to begin.

Valuation isn’t a fixed number — it’s a range that moves based on how your business is positioned, who’s buying, and when. We’ll give you a clear-eyed preliminary read early in our process, along with the specific factors that could move that number before you go to market. The goal is an honest baseline, not a number designed to get you to sign.

No. And we understand the hesitation. PE firms are one category of buyer, and there are good ones and bad ones. Our buyer universe also includes strategic acquirers, regional consolidators, national players, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. We vet every buyer carefully, not just whether they have the capital, but what their last five transactions looked like and what happened to the people involved. The right buyer for your business isn’t always the one with the biggest check.

This is one of the most common concerns we hear, and one of the most important. Most buyers need your team to stay. The businesses and people who thrive after a transaction are usually the ones whose new ownership created opportunities they couldn’t have had before. We build employee and culture considerations into the deal from the start, and we vet buyers on their track record with the teams they’ve acquired.

A typical TREP engagement runs six to nine months across three phases: preparation, competitive auction, and due diligence and close. That’s faster than the industry average, and it’s intentional. A competitive process with a clear timeline keeps buyers engaged and bidding, which drives better outcomes. We move as fast as you want to move, and we don’t slow down once we start.

The Best Time to Talk Is Before You’re Ready to Sell Your Business.

Most of the owners we work with aren’t quite ready to sell when we first talk. Like you, they had questions, concerns and timelines. They had rough sketches of where they wanted to go. And that’s the best time to talk.

No obligation. No pressure. No hard sell. Just an honest chat about where you are and what might lie ahead.
